La primer canción que escuché de Massilia Sound System fue Méfi!, me explotó tanto la cabeza con esa combinación de ritmos y sonidos que la puse en loop por horas antes de escuchar el álbum completo.
Hace meses que deseaba dedicarle una entrada a 3968 CR13 pero no se encuentra en el servicio de streaming que uso a diario y de donde provienen los embeds que coloco en esta clase de anotaciones. Quería evitar poner el código de Spotify así que lo busqué en Bandcamp ¡y ahí estaba! Raro que un material tan bueno no se encuentre disponible en Tidal. Difícil elegir tracks favoritos sin casi copiar el listado del álbum: Pauvre De nous (ojo a esa vuelta que toma a partir del 1:55), Fus Nèr De Reggae, Jovent, Y’a Des Fois, Bouteille Sur Bouteille, Elles Ont Des Pilotis, La Fille Du Selecta, Triste Es Le Trin, Doça Amiga, Méfi!.
Massilia Sound System is a reggae band formed in Marseille, France, in 1984. They developed a Provençal hybrid version of reggae, rub-a-dub and raggamuffin, with lyrics in the French and Occitan languages, sometimes referred to as trobamuffin (from the Occitan word trobador and the musical style raggamuffin), though they have also performed in Portuguese and Italian. They incorporate many rhythms, beats and samples from the local tradition or other musical colleagues, and their lyrics indicate a profound parochialism for Marseille and the south of France in general.
